Discounts, vouchers and free shipping

In this guide, you will learn how to create discounts and discount coupons for your online store customers. You can set discounts and free shipping for all orders or only for orders exceeding a certain amount. You can also create discount coupons that reduce the total amount of an order. All these promotions can be combined — for example, you can set free shipping and simultaneously apply a percentage discount for purchases over a certain amount.

The discount feature is only available with the Profi or Business Premium plans. With any other plan, you can try out the feature, but the discounts won’t be saved in the store and therefore won’t activate.

1. In the e-shop administration, click on Discounts in the Overview tab.

2. Here you can create a new discount by clicking on the Add discount button, edit existing discounts by clicking on their name in the list, or filter them using the Show option

3. When creating or editing a discount, you can set the following properties:

Discount name

Choose a name that will appear in the discount list, like "Summer Sale." The name is mainly for your reference, and customers won’t see it unless you explicitly show it.

Discount type

• Free shipping

Free shipping can be set for all orders or only for orders exceeding a certain amount. Free shipping applies to all shipping methods in the store. For example, you can offer free shipping for orders over 15 £.

• Percentage discount

Here, you can set a discount for all orders or only for orders over a certain amount. For example, a 20% discount on orders over 30 £.

• Price reduction by a specific amount

The total price of the purchase can be reduced by a specific amount. The total price refers to the value of the goods themselves and does not include shipping or payment fees.

The discount can apply to all orders without limitation or only to selected orders over a certain amount. For example, a 3 £ discount on orders over 45 £.

Discounts can be combined, and you can set multiple discounts. For instance, you can apply both a 20% discount and 3 £ off for all orders exceeding a certain value. Additionally, you can add a discount coupon that will further reduce the total order price.

If multiple similar discounts are set for orders over a certain amount, the highest discount will always be applied.

Discounts can be set for all orders or for orders over a certain amount, but not for specific products or categories.

Status

If you want to pause the discount, you can change its status to Inactive. You can activate the discount again at any time.

Promo Code

If you want the discount to be applied only when a discount coupon is entered, you can enter the coupon code in the Promo code field. You can share the coupon on your Facebook profile or the store’s homepage. The customer will then enter the discount code during checkout. The coupon can be something like SUMMERSALE.

Single-use coupon

You can set the promo code to be valid for only one customer, in the case of a special bonus. Just check the One-off promo code option. Once the customer uses the coupon, its status will change to inactive.

Discounts from the Customer’s Perspective

The customer can enter the coupon code during checkout in the Promo code field.

If the coupon has already been used or entered incorrectly, a warning will appear saying the code is invalid, and the discount won’t be applied.

Once a valid promo code is entered, the discount amount and the name of the coupon will be displayed.

If the discount applies to all orders or orders exceeding a certain value, the total price of the purchase will be displayed accordingly.

If free shipping is set for all orders or orders exceeding a certain amount, it will be reflected in the price calculation.
