Quick Tip: Build a Good Menu for Your Site

June 26th, 2012

The goal of every webmaster is to create a website that attracts visitors and is easy to navigate. Therefore, a user-friendly menu that helps users find their way around is one of the most important aspects of a website. If it’s straightforward and well-organized, visitors will find what they’re looking for and will come back. What about the menu on your site?

What a good menu should have

When visitors land on your page, since the menu is visible first, make sure the following tabs are a part of your menu:

  • About Us
  • Services
  • News
  • Contact Us
  • Feedback

Each menu has an optimal number of menu tabs: 7 to 10. Any further pages should be added as subpages. In this way, visitors won’t be confused and will be able to navigate faster on the site.

How to change the order of the (sub) pages in the menu

You can change the order of the pages of your site and move some subpages in or out of the main pages. You can find detailed instructions on how to edit the menu in our Knowledge base.
