Vit Vrba
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Vit Vrba is the company founder. He is responsible for the company’s strategy, finance and product platform. He has 13 years experience in Internet industries and in the past led several Internet R&D projects.
Vit attended Mendel University in Brno where he studied for a master's degree in Economics and Computer Science. He is currently studying for his Ph.D. in Computer science. He has written more than 20 publications with impact factor and actively attends international scientific conferences.
Ondrej Kratena
Chief Technical Officer
Ondrej Kratena is the team leader for programming and analytics. He is responsible for technical tasks in Webnode, analysis, planning and the development of new services. He provides a technical voice in the strategic planning of the company. Ondrej has worked in the company since 2004.
He has 10 years of experience with the development of Internet solutions. Ondrej has participated in many R&D projects related to the Internet. He studied in the Faculty of Informatics Masaryk University Brno and is a certified project manager according to IPMA standards.
Lubomir Cvrk
Software Engineer, R&D
Lubomir is responsible for server side components and their object and data architecture. He has more than 15 years experience with software development on various platforms, programming languages and database management systems.
Lubomir received his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic. He participated in many scientific research projects and received two Best Paper Awards at international scientific conferences. He published over 30 scientific publications at international conferences and journals with impact factor.
Hynek Lipa
Project Manager
Hynek Lipa is responsible for transforming effective design into a fully featured website. He also leads the custom development of information systems for corporate customers.
Hynek has more than 15 years of experience in the field of DTP, analysis and the development of large information systems.
Miroslav Kocian
Programmer & Analyst
Miroslav Kocian is a system programmer. He is especially responsible for the Webnode GUI development, analysis and last, but not least, for the system core functions. He has been working on the Webnode project from the beginning of development.
Miroslav attended Brno University of Technology Faculty of Information Technology where he studied for a master’s degree in Computer Science. During studies he specialized in web based projects.
Miroslav Oujesky
Programmer & Analyst
Miroslav is on the Webnode development team. He works on Webnode Statistics, Webnode Translator and some other (mainly statistical) tools for us and our partners. He has 2 years of active programming experiences with PHP and SQL databases.
Miroslav is currently attending the Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Information Technology.
Petr Kratky
Programmer & Analyst
As a company analyst and programmer, Petr Kratky takes a share in Webnode system development. He also participates in the Webnode Translator project, manages the localization process and he is responsible for customer care and the support department.
During his studies at Masaryk University in Brno, Petr started to work for Westcom as a part-time employee. After graduating with a master’s degree in Computer Science, he continued in the company and began with Webnode development.
Tomas Batrla
Business Development Manager
Tomas is responsible for the development and implementation of partnership strategies in Webnode. He has entrepreneurial experience in the Internet and mobile business since 2004.
He attended the Faculty of business and management along with the Faculty of Information Technology at the Brno University of Technology. Tomas participated in many startup competitions and won 2nd place in the business plan competition held by Intel Capital in San Francisco.
Ales Straka
Technical Support
Ales is responsible for customer support. He is the person who will be in touch with you whenever you have any questions about Webnode.
Ales attended the High school of Mechanics and Electronics in Brno and has few years of experience with Internet services.
Ben Holland
Technical Support
Ben is Irish and is responsible for technical writing in Webnode and for maintaining English client support. He has more than 14 years experience working with media production systems and writing.
Ben holds an NCVA Certificate in Media Production and currently studies Life Sciences with the Open University, Milton Keynes, UK. Two books of his on biology have been published internationally and a third will be published in 2009.
Josef Gottwald
System Administrator
Josef is responsible for the hardware and software administration in our company. He has more than 6 years of experience in the field of IT systems administration.
Josef received a bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Information Technology at the Brno University of Technology.
Barbora Breckova
Accountant Manager
Barbora Breckova is an accountant manager responsible for the whole accounting, taxes and payrolls of Westcom. She has more than 10 years experience in accounting.
